JAMESTOWN CLOSES: MURRAY DRIFTS. The Jamestown, Va., meeting has closed. Its boosters naively announce about its closure: "The object of closing the meet at the present time is to keep up tlie good name of the track." Starter Bill Murray has gone further toward his racing end by a trip to New Orleans, where he will start the horses of the half-mile gambling merry-go-round of the Louisiana track. In the hours of the track putting up its shutters, some bold bad man stole the "ringer" Enolia. The club got een by ruling off the parties which operated Enolia. The extent of territory from which thev are barred is not given. The track will open next spring, but no date has vet been fixed by the management of tlie club, which is said to have lost some 0,000 by its recent venture.
