ELECTIONEER LAME AND RETIRED. New York, October 7. Electioneer came out of the Brighton Cup race so lame that he is not likely to race again this season. This was the reason for his failure in the race after his first mile and a half of sharp contention witii Ballot in 2:33.. The injury did not develop until the horse had been cooled out. Then he was found to be in a bad condition. Tlie colt has been a failure this season. He has won but one race in eight starts with two seconds, one third and four unplaced performances, with ,GS0 as his earnings.
