Sir John Johnson was prominent in the early running, but was run Into by .Monopolist and nearly fell, made a miraculous recovery and came on again and won off finally. Monopolist broke fast and set the earlv pace, but bolted across the track in the first quarter, then finished a fast going second and was set bark for fouling. Carrollton, after being seriously interfered with by Monopolist, came on and finished a game third. Rosimiro enjoyed clear sailing on the inside, put up a very game final effort and is a better than fair colt. EHen-a-Dale closed a big gap and finished with a rush. Goldfinn, away poorly, steadily improved her position and is about due. Masque quit early. Coligny blundered seriously at the very first jump and dropped far to the rear, striding as if broken down, but warmed out of It as the race progressed and. moving up in the last half, made good eventually after a hard drive. Mr. McCann ran more forwardly than the favorite and took up the running at the end of two miles and a half, appeared the winner in the last half, but tired finally. Sheriff Williams made the running for a mile and a half before he retired and was finally beaten off. Thistlcdale, palpably unlit to race, inn wide throughout, losing a quarter of a mile, quit to a walk at the end of three miles and was pulled up. Scratched 71379 Sinister, 152. IVlcada, from a striding inside start, ran in close pursuit of the pacemaker to the last furlong, where he drew out decisively. The Squire ran lapped on the pacemakers for five furlongs and drew out simultaneously with the winner, but tired in a game closing drive. Lady Winifred, away poorly, ran obliquely ixtxosu the track, but finished well on the extreme outside and ran a superior race. Julia Powel set a stiff pace for five furlongs and then tired after an extra good race. Dorante, away slowly, closed up steadily and acts like a stayer. Johnnie Blake was never dangerous, although well up and going fast at the end. Fort Johnson was outpaced from the start, but holding on gamely throughout. Minnie Adams, skillfully reserved in front, hugged the inner rail to the stretch and scored with something to spare under an alert and vigorous finish. Sea Wolf was waited with close in behind the other two until straightened for home, failed in an attempt to come through on the inside and was forced to pull up and coine on the outside, then finished well, Dugan sitting still all through the stretch and his mount appeared the winner in the last furlong. Ironsides made the running undisturbed for two miles and held on well in the closing drive. Salvidere trailed last with his rider watching Running Water and failed to move up until too late when the race had been reduced to a sprint and could never overhaul the twa leaders. Oraculum, from a flying start, quickly established a small lead and maintained it throughout, winning finally going awny fast. Troublemaker, crowded to the rear early, closed an Immense gap into a fast and game second in a remarkable effort. Rockstone broke well, but was on the extreme outside and finished boring out under the judges stand. AAes got away slowly, was forced to the outside throughout and was unable to get up. Chief Hayes broke slowly, took an outside "route all the way and finished close up and going fast. Pretension is improving and was a forward contender for seven furlongs. Bean-clere, nearly left, closed a tremendous amount of ground,. Gild can do better.
