It was so close at the finish that only the judges could place them. Jack Atkin ran behind the early pacemaker to the quarter post, then began to close tip fast, but failed to quite get up. Frank Lord raced Handzarra into defeat and that effort caused him to tire. Handzarra showed ppeed. but failed to stay. Keator is not quite himself. Estimate showed improvement. Miss Mazzonl got away poorly, but closed a big gap and finished fast. Youthful showed early speed, but quit in the stretch. Tee Tick ran a good half. Rifle Range quit. Grapple, after being reserved in the early running, caught Sewell at the sixteenth post and, in a hard drive, got up to win by a short head. Sewell showed superior early speed and began to tire after going six furlongs, but finished out resolutely. Juggler ran sluggishly, but had no contention for third place and can do better. The latter Avas waited with too long and, in a fast finish, failed to quite get up. Moonshine followed the leaders closely and tired only in the last eighth. Smiling Tom tired from an early effort in forcing the pace. Dolly Spanker ran a bad race throughout. Masks and Faces ran a good race, but was held safe by the first three. Sandal made a promising debut. The others Avcre always outrun.
