COOKS NEW ORLEANS STRING. Fred Cook lias all his horses at Cumberland Park, Nashville, Term., where they will rest until going to New Orleans. They are being prepared by W. E. Phillips and Frank Rector. Mr. Cook has not determined just what horses he will have at the Crescent City tracks this winter, but in all probability it will not be a very large stable. Missouri Lad, Tom Dolaiu Johnnie Blake. Lawrence P. Daley and a few yearlings will likely comprise the string. The two last named will be his candidates for the Crescent City and City Park Derbys. NIcol Is now at Nashville aud will go south with Phillips and will ride the horses whether he signs again with Cook or not. While neither Cook nor Nieol has said anything definite regarding the contract between them, which expires next mouth, it is almost safe to say that Mr. Cook has NIcol as an integral part of the extensive plans he is said to be making for an eastern cainpaign with his horses next year. .Mr. Cook and trainer Phillips have no hesitancy In saying that they will have some of the best two-year-olds racing in the east next season, doveloped from the big band Phillip has gathered at Nashville from the yearling sales of the year. Jockey NIcol is regarded as one of the best riders of two-year-olds now riding aud Mr. Cook, no doubt, will be loath to lose his services in the saddle next year.
