Warden Yell drew out early and made the running to the final sixteenth before he succumbed and was a game second. Buto, away poorly, got into quick forward contention, but was hampered and in the deepest gying throughout and could never get up. High Gun was carried to the outside fence when Vronskv bolted on the first turn, then closed an immense gap. Altair showed superior early speed, but was messed about and tired in the final drive. Vronsky bolted on the first tiirn. San Gil, nearly put over the outside fence by Vronsky, had no chance. The winner, entered for 00, was bid up to ,200 and bought by Ed Trotter. Deutschland showed brilliant early speed, but fell away In the last quarter as if short. Bill Mayham showed speed, but was handicapped by the going. Downpatrick is not ready. Prince Brutus, from a good start, forged into a big lead on the far turn and was never seriously menaced afterwards. Castile, well up from the start, took second place in a cyclonic stretch rush. Agnolo, from a Hying start, set the early pace, but was crowded back on the far turn and came again with a belated rush. Senator Warner, away poorly, closed up rapidly and seemed sure of second place when midway of the stretch, but quit badly at the end. Meada, nearly left, made up much ground. Heather Scott was badly messed about, but favors slower going. Margaret Randolph was always liemmed in. The winner, entered for 00; was bid up to ,000 and bought in.
