BLAGG THE STAKE WINNER. TAKES THE ORLEANS HANDICAP IN EASY FASHION WITH JOHN CARROLL SECOND. Serenade Scores for Owner McDowell — Corrigan in Luck and Wins Two Races with Hadur and Alma Dufour — Dr. Logans Steeplechase. 1* New Orleans. La.. February 20. — The Orleans Handicap, at six furlongs, and having a net value to the winner of ,720. brought together a good band of sprinters and resulted in a bandy victory for Blagg. John Carroll taking second place in the last strides from Cooney K.. with Angelus a nose away. The race was marred considerably by bad jockeyship, the principal sufferers proving The Bear. J. C Core and Angelus. The latter would probably have won with intelligent riding. Flynn got him away in a tangle, kept him on the extreme outside throughout, and when going fast in the stretch and certain of second place, he let go of the horses bead, causing him to stumble, which accounted for his failure to finish closer up.
