SANTA ANITA TRACK DISTANCES CORRECT. So many extremely fast races have been run over the new Santa Anita track that mistrustful persons have insinuated that they may have been run over a short track. This stirred the club officials to action, and they secured civil engineer Edward T. Wright, to survey and measure the various distances accurately. This has lieen done and Mr. Wrights sworn statement would seem to be conclusive in the matter. It is as follows: As requested by you, I have measured the race track at Santa Anita Park and find the distances measured three feet from inside rail, as follows: Entire track, 1 1-8 miles, should be 5,940.00 feet. I find the length is 5.940.31 Mile on circular track should be 5,280.00 " This mile course measures 5.280.10 " Mile from chute should be 5,280.00 " This mile course measures 5,280.3ft " 7 furlongs on circular track should be. .4,620.00 ".
