HAVANA MEETING PROMISES WELL. Tampa. Fla.. March 3.— The program of the meeting to be held at Havana under the auspices of the Cuban Racing Association l eginning March 12, and continuing fifty days, has been received here. The stakes, handicaps and purses will range in value from uo to .ooo and are guaranteed by the Carnival Commission of the navana City Council. There will be six races" decided every day of the week. including Sundays and the rules governing the same are similar to those of the jockey clubs iu this country. A new mile track has jnst been completed and a grandstand s ating 5.000 people besides a field stand accommodating 2,500, are ready for occupancy. The unquestioned standing of the persons connected with this enterprise, among whom are city officials, s nators of the university faculty and well known business men promises clean racing. As the carnival will be in progress during the months of March ami April, a great number or visitors will be in Havana to swell the crowd. Arturo Hernandez, who is secretary and general manager of the Cuban Racing Association, is putting forth his best endeavors to induce northern horsemen to visit Cuba. Special rates can be obtained on all the steamship lines running to Havana and arrangements have been completed whereby the horsemen on their arrival in Havana will find everything arranged lor their comfort and convenience.
