Calla. after close and strenuous pursuit, tired in the closing drive. Buchanan, away poorly, closed a big gap. David Roland showed speed, but quit badly. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Bellmence. skillfully and patiently reserved in the rear for a mile and a half, closed a gap quickly into a fast going second. Kotrou loomed up prominently at the end of a mile and ;i half, but was outsprinted through the last quarter. Tetanus dropped back when beginning the sei-ond mile, but was coming very fast at the end. Benvolio, at a disadvantage in making a slow pace for the others, was left bcMad in the closing half-mile sprint. The winner was entered for $ 00; no bid.
