] FOOL BETTORS RAISE A ROW AT OAKLAND. Disagree with Judges Placing in a Race and Make j the Usual Senseless Demonstration. Oakland. Cal.. March 0.— When Cadichons number was displayed as the winner of the mile and twenty yards handicap at Oakland today a big and turbulent crowd gathered around the judges stand and hooted the officials. A part of the spectators disagreed with the placing and were of the opinion that Iui|»ort had won by a good head in a finish in ■Mel the two horses were running so closely together that their ears almost touched. There was no deceptive angle in this case. But for the over-confident ride indulged in by the midgel .jockey. A. Walsh. Imports margin of victory would have Ikcu several lengths. This was the warmest and most perfect day for the greatest of s| orts experienced this winter, and a very big Monday crowd journeyed to the track. The card was of average excelleni-e and the racing clean and formful. Three favorites. Nappa. Car-inisa and Kogo. scored right off the reel. After that outsiders held sway in Cadlchon. Iontotoc and John II. Shechan. Walter Miller monopolized jockey honors, with two firsts, oue second and one unplaced out of four mounts. Gilbert. Hayes. Kirsch mann and Scoville accounted for the remaining four races. A. O. Blakeley will leave for New York tomorrow morning. G. Burns has been engaged to ride his stake candidates in the east this coining season. Thomas II. Williams has given him second call on his lightweight. Gilbert, in all selling races. James R. Keene. will have the preference over •my body in stake rai-es. This virtually gives Mr. Keene second call on Gill crt. Mose Goldhlatt exjiects to leave for the east this week and will take Keep Moving along. J. Lowe will campaign a string of racers belonging to S. C. Hildreth at the coming Seattle meeting. Clamor. Mansard and Ronton have been turned out at the Brentwood Stock Farm. C. T. Hciishall and Herman Radtke arrived today from Ia s Angeles. The New California Jockey Club announced two big handicaps for April. Th y are the Family Club Handicap at 1 IS miles, to be run on April 4 aud the Olympic Club Handicap. 1 1-4 miles, to l»e decided on April 11. Each will have ,000 added money and a valuable cup donated by the respective elude they are named after. Entries to l«ifh will close on March 21. They are for three year-olds Hiid over.
