Wuerzburger u*gan slowly, but steadily improved his position under skillful guidance and got up in the last stride. Tonic, luckily and forwardly placed throughout, only succumbed in the last couple of strides and is extra good. Huerfano ran in forward and persistent pursuit for the last six furlongs and was a close up and fast going third. Do Grammont drew out on the first turn and threatened to spreadeagle the others, but tired in the stretch. Henry O., away poorly, closed an immense gap and ran a cracking race. Salpearl made up much ground. John H. failed to stay after showing early speed. The winner was entered for ; no bid. Cook, from a striding start, was patiently reserved in close pursuit of the pacemakers and wore them down in a long closing drive. Belle of Iroquois forced the early pace and shook off Lord Nelson and drew away on the last turn, but succumbed finally. Xagazam. away poorly in close inside quarters, closed an immense gap into a fast going third. Lord Nelson tired after a half mile of strenuous pacemaking. Captain Burnett, from a slow start, closed a big gap and finished with a rush in a cracking iffort. Dick Wilson, best in soft going, ran forwardly for five furlongs. El Cazador was gaining at the end. Tawasentha was forced out of any chance at the start and only cantered the journey. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Peter Sterling, well up from the start, finished fast and is extrr-J good. Northwest, after nearest pursuit for nearly seven furlongs, tired in the closing drive, but is very good. Massa ran a dull race, lost ground in the early running and was gaining slowly in the stretch. J. C. Livius trailed far in the rear for three miles, then dashed into second place on the first turn when lieginning the last mile and maintained game, but unavailing, pursuit of the ieadcr to the end. Benvolio, forwardly placed for thtee miles and a half, tireil when the real racing began. Byronerdaip made the running on sufferance for three miles, then dropped out. Maxtress made a game effort and had a rough journey, but finished close up. Follie L.. badly messed about, can do much better. Miss Officious is not ready. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. The Mist, away badly and shuffled repeatedly to the rear, closed an immense gap on the extreme outside after losing a half dozen lengths, made a cyclonic finish and was much the best, but waa given a bad ride. Burning Bush ran prominently to midway of the stretch and tired. Bucolic had a rough journey, got away poorly and closed a gap. Silver Stocking failed to stay. Cloudlight was short.
