KENTUCKY RACING DATES TO BE SETTLED. Lexington, Ky., March 17.— Chairman J. P. Chinn has called a meeting of the State Racing Commission to be held In this city Friday. The purpose is to allot dates for the spring meeting here, at Louisville and at Latonia. It has been settled that Lexington is to open first, but it has not been decided I whether there will be seven or ten days racing here. The probabilities are, however, that there will I be ten days and that the opening day will be April 22. This will make the closing date May 2, giving ; Lexington two Saturdays. If this is decided upon the Louisville meeting will open Monday, May 4. In any event it can be stated that the Kentucky , Derby will be run either on Saturday, May 2, or on , Monday, May 4. The Kentucky legislature will adjourn at midnight. The anti-poolroom bill was reported favorably " by the rules committee this morning and is s on the calendar. It is far down, however, and may not be reached until late in the night. There is, • too, a chance that it cannot be reached. The delegation - of breeders, however, who returned from i Frankfort on the late train this evening, are satisfied that it will be passed. Tarpeia dam of John Peters, has foaled a a chestnut colt by Adam at E. R. Bradleys Idle Hour r Farm. Calamity Jane, the property of Ed Martin, dropped a bay colt by Cesarion today.
