OUTLINING NEW ORLEANS PLANS. New Orleans, La., October 10. President neaslip continues to map out plans for the forthcoming winter meeting, to be inaugurated December 5. although the conditions of the stakes have not as yet been announced. Judge Joseph Murphy may be appointed presiding judge and handicapper. while it is believed pretty certain that Jack Campbell will be clerk of the scales. It has not yet been announced who will be starter, but it is more than likely that either William Murray, who has made his home here every winter for the past twelve years, or Mars Cassidy will officiate. As for the paddock and patrol judge. William Newman, a well-known local turfman, will in all probability be appointed to Unit position. President Hcaslip has received hundreds of applications from horsemen throughout the country. The fact that Messrs. Keene, Whitney, Duryea and Belmont have shipped their star racers to Europe will in no way prevent the local track from securing high-class horses, so he says.
