THIRD DAY OF THE M GR ATHIANA SALE. Lexington, Ky.. October 29. This was the third day of Colonel Milton Youngs dispersal sale at McGrathiana Farm, and 127 head passed under Auctioneer Eastons hammer for an aggregate of G.-240. an average of 0G.C0. making the totals for the three days of 420 head sold for 4,000. an average of 77.75. The sale will be concluded tomorrow with the auction of about sixty head, they being some of the poorer ones which were passed In the tlireo days. Die grand total will go over SS0.000. or more than double the amount which Colonel Young a month ago offered to take for the horses as a whole. Ora Bailey, the dam of Sewell and the star of the Iroodmare collection, was sold today and, like the majority of the other really good ones, she goes to Canada, that is, to British Columbia, narry Stanhope, the man who bred Hhoda B.. dam of the Epsom Derby winner. Orbv. started the bidding for Ora Bailey at 50. Barney Schreiber said ,000 and had hardlv uttered the words before Stanhope raised it to ,250. Charles Hughes, representing Henry M. Ziegler. of Cincinnati, quickly raised it to ,500. Irvine n. Wheatcroft. of the St. James Stable, said ,750. Hughes bid .S00. Wheatcroft ,000. Hughes ,250. Wheatcroft ,500. Hughes raised tills 0 and Wheatcroft said ,000. Hughes dropped out and the grand looking marc was knocked otf to the man from across the border, nughes got the Hanover mare. Retained II.. for Mr.. Ziegler for 75 and she is a bargain. The second highest price of the day was 1908.sh00 for Laura Ethel, dam of Glen-echo. Kinzea Stone, of Georgetown. Ky.. got her. John Evans, hidding for J. E. Seagram, paid 00 for Mareto; E. L. Davis got Night Gown tor the same price and the St. James Stable eot Stars and Tasmania for 00 each.
