Sal Arolatile, off forwardly, worked her way up on the outside of the leaders on the far turn, then hung on gamely In the stretch drive and just lasted long enough to stall off Edgely. The latter came resolutely near the end and would have beaten the winner in another stride. Grlmaldl showed a line turn of speed for a half mile, but tired in the stretch. Halifax began slowly and failed to show speed. Baby AVillie ran well to the stretch and quit in the final drive. Sun Fire and Botanist finished close up. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Kcmpton showed the most early speed, but quit when Cave Adsum caught him.
