Novgorod, after forward pursuit of the pacemakers from the start, drew out midway of the stretch, but just lasted long enough. Aunt Kit. away badly, closed up steadily and just failed to get up in a fast closing sprint. Miss Highland forced the pace for five furlongs and led momentarily, but tired at the end. Harry Stanhope ran well up throughout. Orlin Ormonde ran forwardly to the stretch and quit. Johnny White showed superior speed for a half mile and tired badly. Uncle Sam, hopelessly outpaced early, dropped Into third place when the others fell. Captain Kennedy, after forward pursuit, was seemingly the winner when he stumbled and fell. St. Avon, just behind him in prominent contention, was bumped off his feet. Fancy, immediately behind this pair, fell over them. The winner was entered for 1908.sh00: no bid. Figent. from a slow inside start, was repeatedly crowded back and closed a big gap in a cracking effort. Prudent drew out quickly into a big lead in the middle running, but tired right at the end. Sir Brillar outbroke and outpaced the others to the last sixteenth before tiring. Gargantua ran In forward contention for the first mile aud was short. Remember bad scant chance uuder a bad ride.
