Weir brought his apprentice boys. Holmes and King, along with him. It is the Intention of Weir to remain, at Oakland during the winter, but he will make occasional shipments to Santa Anita for some of the big stakes. Weirs return to the coast Is a source of gratification to a large number of turfmen, who know him either personally or by his reputation, that has always .been above reproach. His record as a trainer shows him to be careful and painstaking, his greatest achievement being the training of the greatest of sprinters. Roseben.
