TRAINER POLK IS REINSTATED. San Francisco, Cal., December 2. Stuart Polk, whose application for a trainers license had been held up bv- tlhe licensing .committee of the Pacific Jockey Club on account of Polks name having been connected1 with, the scandal arising out of the running of Blondv in lead bandages at the recent Boise meeting, received bis license yesterday. The local racing authorities were guided in this disposition of the case by a report from Judge Robert LeightOM, who presided ait Boise, to the effect that it had not been established that Polk had any guiltv knowledge df the use to which tlie lead that he purchased for the owner of Blondy was to be put The owner of the horse, who was ruled off for life, declared that he alone knew of the condition in which his horse was running, and that nobody else was implicated. Polk Jias one or two horses In training- at Oakland and holds the contract on the promising lightweight rider. E. Clark. Polk is best known to the local race-going public as the trainer of the crack sprinter, Gemmell, when that horse was running so well in the colors of President II. I. Wilson of the Butte Jockey Club here last season.
