SELLING RACE WAR AT SAN ANTONIO. San Antonio, Tex.. December 15. There was a decided improvement in the sport today because of good track conditions. The attendance was the largest of the meeting. Speculation, however, was light and the twelve layers who operated fared badly during the afternoon. The selling race war which began yesterday was continued. W- B, Freeman bidding up Woodline and George IT. White 00 each over the entered price, but failed to land them. Todays arrivals included J. Gass from Latonia with Albert Star and the apprentice. J. Reid, from Santa Anita. Several horsemen in El Paso have applied for stable room here. The closing of the gambling houses in town by the authorities at the instigation of Governor Campbell forced those speculatively inclined to the races.
