DOING WELL AT SAVANNAH Savannah. Ga., December 20. The second days racing of the Savannah Jockey Club winter meeting was well attended and. while the fields were small, the class of horses engaged was superior to that of yesterday and some capital siort resulted. The last race of the day. in which only three started, was an interesting and close struggle between Polar Star and St. Valentine, the latter winning under a strong finish. Countermand, coming from the rear, finished with a great burst of speed and nipped out Polar Star for second place. A large consignment of horses is expected from San Antonio, Texas, after that meeting closes next Saturday.
