POSEIDON, AUSTRALIAN CHAMPION. RETIRES. The Australian champion race horse of MM and 1907, Poseidon, will not race again. One of his front legs lias given way and lie goes to the stud next season. Poseidon is a hay horse- live years old. Iositfino — Jacinth, owned by II. R. Denlnon. In IMS the horse- won the Melbourne Cup. Caullielel Cap. Yictoria Derby and Adelaide Derby, and in 1!Mi7 the Caiillield Cup. Adelaide St. I.e-ge-r and Yictoria St. Leger. Poseidon was not an especially sturdy horse, hut when at his best was game and fast and a great weight canier.
