Gemmell, off forwardly and free from interference all the way, showed more early speed than usual, but tired at the end. Mazuma was pulled up at the start and took the overland route, closed a big gap and finished fast. Dennis Stafford, bumped hit" at the start and knocked back to last place, also closed a big gap and finished close up. Many Colors ran well and finished gamely. So did Iloyle. Megantic, on the outside of the leaders all the way. tired in the final drive. Fauntleroy is a slow lieginner. The winner ran a middle quarter in 23%.
