Arasee, reserved right in behind the pacemaker for six furlongs, established a small lead when called oh, then Glass sat still and threw away a sure victory in the final sixteenth. Zienap, outpaced in the early running, although within hailing distance of the leaders, failed to make the expected impression in the stretch and ran a bad race. Angelus set a fast pace under a pull for six furlongs and quit badly when headed. Charlie Hargrave was pulling up at the start and trailed all the way.
