1 . THIRTY LEADING MONEY-WINNING OWNERS , . : . Since the last publication of the list of leading owners of this year S. C. llildreth has liad his horses busily and successfully racing at Sheepshead Hay and Jravesend to such good effect that he has increased his stable earnings from 37017 to. -18,302. There is now no chance that lie can be overtaken and his position as the leading winning owner of 1000 is absolutely assured. In the same time his closest competitor, James It. Keene, has gained in stable winnings moderately, so that his credit Is now 05,358. as compared with 04.S4S. His position in second place is as well settled as that of llildreth in the leadership. II. !. P.edwell and 1$. Sehreilicr are .still third and fourth and have drawn so far in advance of P. T. Cliinn that the latter no longer immediately threatens to pass above them in the list. It will be observed that the horses belonging to the thirty most successful owners have won for them an aggregate of 41,01", with so much racing yet to lie done this year that this total may be reasonably expected to reach a million dollars or more. The obvious deduction is that our racing is still In a healthy condition, despite the hard blows given it in the course of the past two years. It still pays to own a good lace horse. The stable winnings of the thirty leading owners, including Mondays racing, are as follows: Won in Leading Winner Won in Leading Winner I.ltiS. Owner. of 1908. 1st. 2d. 3d. 1!0!. of 1000.
