Detroit, after early prominence, was carried wide on the home turn and dropped back, but closed up again ill the last furlong. Bob Co. ran well, but tired in the final drive. Chief Kee closed a big gap. Galvesea was always outpaced, but finished well. The Monk and English Esther were crowded out at the start and had no chance.
