Although good and even fast time marked the C racing, a lilit rainfall rendered he iraek par- ii in tieularly acceptable to horses with mrid-running proclivities, and Dr. Holzberg, a lightly-weighted to Woodlands-bred racer, survived what proved to be one of the most thrilling and spectacular turf con- l tests of the fag end of the season. IScsom. a strong v paddock" tip. was said to have recovered the speed f which he bad lacked in his previous races, lhe Kingston gelding did actually dominate the early running in old-time fashion, but failed to stay and was luckv to have saved the place from Jeanne dArc. which tillv was seriously impeded by the swerving of the winner at a critical moment near- J ing the finish, lrince Gal and Dreamer ran in a J manner Indicating that they bad trained off. while i Firestone showed the effects of his recent long-dis- i tance racing and training. The winner was well backed at S to 1. TJie Brooklyn Jockey Club provided a good, program for getaway-day and but for .threatening weather the attendance would have- been much larger than it was. The rain caused unite a few withdrawals, but these were not missed, as the fields were numer- J ically strong; . " - , , , The condensed history of the Bayshore Stakes " since 1900" is as follows: !
