IMPORTANT RACING IN ENGLAND THIS WEEK. The three greatest autumn meetings of English racing are those held at Newmarket the First October meeting. Second October meeting and the Newmarket Houghton meeting. Of these, the lirst October is scheduled to begin today and continue ?. for four davs. In its course a number Of highly important stake races will be disposed of. The chief races of the second day are e the Sivtv-First Triennial Produce Stakes, for three-vear-olds. .. at a mile and a quarter: the Bpscawcn i Post Stakes, for two-year-olds, at live furlongs and j i:U yards, aud the Hopeful Stakes, for two-year-olds, at live furlongs. Mr. Belmonts Hasty Pudding, Mr. . Carrolls Courtisane. Mr. Keenes Black Satin and d Mr. Whitnevs Top o the Morning and Hamburg Regatta gelding are in the Hopeful Stakes. The great feature of Thursdays racing is the e 0,000 Jockey Club Stakes, for three-year-olds and d over. It is run over the last mile and three-quarters :- of the Cesarewitch course and is one of the e most important events of English racing.
