De Mund, better served by the going, lapped the winner throughout, and was wearing hiin down slowly finally. Harrlgan, badly outpaced by, the -leaders, loomed up momentarily on the stretch turn and failed to stay in the closing drive, butis improving. Question Mark ran In nearest pursuit and was eased back in the third quarter, then loomed up menacingly on the stretcli turn, but could never get up in a very game finish. May River, away slowly, as usual, and pocketed by Moquette early, closed up rapidly in the last half and appeared a sure winner- on the stretch tui n, but tired at the end. Moquette, decisively outpaced all the way, was overweighted and ran as if stale. Bonnie" Kelso acted meanly at the post and, being nearly left, only cantered the journey. Firestone, from a striding inside start, ran in forward attendance for the first quarter, but was crowded out at the half and could never get up after that. Alanarka showed superior early speed and tired in the. last quarter. Pantoufie, badly outrun to the stretch, finished well. Dreamer, away flying, was steadily outpaced from the beginning. Imitator outbroke the others and held sway for a mile before tiring and ran a surprisingly good race. Nethermost, from an inside tlatfooted start and nearly left, closed a big early gap quickly into close pursuit of ihe leaders In the last half, but could not quite get up for second place. Juggler, away poorly and badly outpaced, made a wide first turn aud closed a gap at the end. Killiecraukie ran prominently for a mile and tired. Grania, well up for a mile, was hopelessly messed about and can do better. Blackford seemed unable to stride freely in the soft going, aud ran a bad race. The winner was entered for ,500: no bid. In a false start all of the horses, except Oxer. Martinez and Toniata, ran away half of the course and Top Notch went the full course. Oxer then made the pace under a pull, drew clear in the stretch and won as his rider pleased. Toniata ran in forward and persistent pursuit from the start and finished a fast going second, Martinez, nearly left, closed en immense gap and made a fast finish. Dr. Stone finished well. Tom Kerr, pulled up early in the false start, lapped the pacemaker for three furlongs and quit. Slowcoach, a good looker, showed fair early speed, but is not ready. Top Notch had no chance after the false start, Scratched 84933 Hampton Court, 110; S5101 Maliline, 107; 850S5 Boca Grande, 110; 84841 Rustem. 107; Mazor. 110. Overweights Slowcoach, 2 pounds.
