DAY OF UPSETS AT OAKLAND. San Francisco. Cal.. April Hi. — There were several upsets at Oakland MMjr and the followers of favor ites fared liadly. The most unsatisfactory race was the closing dash. Likclv Dieudonne ruled favorite with Thistle Belle a heavily backed second choice. Ai the half mile post. Cohurn. oil Jim C a line v. cut across and almost knocked Thistle Belle down. Near the finish Seidell, on Kid North, crowded Likely liieiulonne. forcing Williams to pnll up. Jim Calliiey won from Kid North and Banorella. The judges had all the jockeys concerned before them and suspended Cohurn for a week for rough riding. Calonus. favorite lor the fifth, was prac li.ally left at the post and failed to cut any figure. Kiriiell. an outsider, proving tin- winner. Bishop W. was favorite in the fourth, but Raleigh led a. I the way. No QMftCf had a competent rider up for a change in the first race and linallv won.
