THIRTEEN FOALS AT NURSERY STUD. Lexington. Kv.. April ill. — To date this season there are thirteen foals out of twelve ntares at ugiist Belmont s Nitrserv Stud. Black Ioplar. dam of Black li.-ik. has a black colt by Back Santl. and her yearling by the same sire is one of the largeat and handsomest colts in this section. St. Eutlm-a. dam of Kustacian. has a chestnut colt by Hastings. Teas Over, dam ot Dick Welles. Ort Wills. Security. Dick FinneH. etc.. has a brown colt by Hastings. St. [ Agnes has a bay colt bv Hastings that is I brother to Hastv Agnes. Selina D.. dam of Misanthrope and Selfish, ha- a brown tillv bv Rock Sand. Chinkara. lias a bay tillv by Hastings. Retained II. has ■ bav colt by Itaiiastar. Lady Violet, dam of Ixrd of th«- Yah- ami live ether winners, has a bay tillv by Back Sand Ladv Languish, half sister to Hamburg. has a bay filly by Hastings. Retained II. has a chestnut tillv by llennis and Dissembler, dam of Phantom and Saltram. has a bay colt bv Planudes. Retained II. and Dissembler are daughters of Hait-ovet -. They were purchased during the winter by superintendent Kd Kane from Henry M. Ziegler. Tin-re are abaeil twenty-five more mares to foal during the next thirty days. The yearlings at the Nursery number thirty-five and they sire a well-grown, hardy collection. They run out every day. the colts in one woodland pasture and the fillies in another. In about a mouth the colts will be put into individual paddocks. These youngsters will be iu prime condition for breaking when they go la trainer Whalen aliout September 1. The BtaUiaM in service at the Nursery this season are Back Sand. Hastings. Singleton and Fair Play. They an- all in splendid condition. Rock Sands improved appearance is a matter for comment among hoi-setnen who have visited the Nursery this season. He will bare thirty five mares this year, nearly all of them, of course, belonging to Mr. Bel nt. Superintendent Kane says Fair Play is perfectly sound and would stand training again should his owner want him to race.
