PENSAC0LA TRACK UNDER CONSTRUCTION. Ieiisaeola. Fla.. August 0. — Preparations are aping on steadily for the election „f the buildings on the acreage recently acquired for the track of the New lonsaoola Fair and Racing Association. A canvass of the business men of this city shows keen interest in the venture and the prospects for a successful session of the sport here this fall ami next spring are Battering. J. V. Strode, who will have full charge of the racing, contemplates a meeting on broad lines and will have the hearty co-operation of prominent horsemen. According to present arrangements racing over the new track will be Inaugurated at the Tri -State Fair late in September with a scries of trotting, pacing and running events, to lie followed Immediately by the regular running meeting of thirty days. After the close at Pensacola. the horsemen will be afforded opportunity to try for parses at Tampa for sixty days, beginning January 1. and then will return for thirty days more at Iensacola. This will afford patrons of the Strode tracks 120 days of continuous racing. It is Intended to have the new plant fully completed before October 1 and with this in view a big force of workmen is engaged in the construction work. Already 78,009 feet of lumber have been delivered for the construction of the grandstand, betting ring and stables, and probahly as much more will have to lie used. Mr. Strode Is eutbuslaatle over the prospects Far a successful season of racing here ami has already received insurances from a number of horsemen that they will ship their stables to this city and after-v. aid.- engage in the racing at Tampa,
