Williams will visit Saratoga liefore the close of the eastern season in the interest of the Oakland meeting. Jockey C. H. Shilling lias had a tempting offer to ride in Germany next year for Baron Oppenheiui. but it is improbable that he will Hcccpt it. The Canadian Breeding Bureau is taking two year old colts, and is glad to get them. These young horses will be sent to the west, given a good winter and mated with a few mares in the spring. August Belmont has presented the Hastings filly. Satisfax. and Captain E. B. Cassatt the stallion Choirmaster of Chesterbrook to Lieutenant De Russy Hoyle of the United States Army. Lieutenant lloyle is a friend of Captain Cassatt. R. II. Anderson, owner of Joe Morris, the last Latonia Derby winner, has a weanling by Dick Fin-nell — Hanoverine that lie regards as highly promising. This is the first foal Hanoverine has had since Joe Morris. Mr. Anderson has already engaged the colt in the Breeders Futurity of 1912 and will name him for numerous other stakes. There were thirty-three thoroughbred foals on the Island of Montreal this year, as against three last year. These foals are by Roseinonnt. Masteriuan. Sea Horse II.. Ostrich. Oiaculuin, Athel. Valjean and Dublin. They are all eligible for Dominion-bred rails and for the Quebec Kings Plate and they nearly all belong to different owners.
