EXPANSIONIST almost fell at the fifteenth fence, but moved up with a rush when going to the eighteenth jump and took a safe lead, but bis rider almost lost the race by easing him up too soon. DACHA was closer up than usual in the early running and, coining fast in the last quarter, barely failed to get up. NAT B. was hard ridden all the way and outstayed DIOPIT for third place. The latter made the running, but gave way suddenly and pulled up lame, as also did NAT B. STEVE LANE refused at the fifteenth jump. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. THEO COOK was buffeted about at the start and dropped back, but closed up rapidly in the homestretch and tired after getting to the leader. OSORINE showed a tiue turn of speed in pacomaking to the stretch turn, then tired in the final drive. PLAlDMORE ran forwardly to the stretch, but failed to stay.
