STALLION ORLANDO DIES IN KENTUCKY. Lexington. Ky.. August lit. Orlando, a t ..orough -hred stallion owned by Woodford Brothers, succumbed to colic at Arcadia, the country estate of Benjamin Woodford in Bourbon County. Orlando was an English production, was bred by Lord Beres- ford and was sold as a yearling for 17.5011. As a two-year old he won the Richmond. Prince of Wales Stakes. Middle Fiik Plate. Dewhnrat Plate and Homebred Foal Stakes. At three he raptured the F I ipse Stakes. Sussex Slakes. Great Poai, Cham-n|on. Limekiln and Subscription Stakes. At tout In- tisik the Rous Memorial Stakes. ReUpse Stakes 4 for the second time and the Cordon Stakes. The horse was then sold to his recent owners for a handsome Bgnr and was brought to Americn in the Sluing of 1843. Orlando was by Orme, out of Ilnelra, the latter at three winning the Richmond Plate ai Kemptou Park, and the Ashtead Plate at FpMini and racing with great success till she was mx years old.
