AMATEUR RACING IN THE EAST. New York. August 28. — After the close of the racing season at Saratoga August 51 I here are a number of amateur race meetings that will afford sport almost until the snow Hies. The Maryland United Hunts will have the first Important meeting at Pim-lico. September 1. 5 and 5. The lunik is out for this meeting and it is decidedly pretentious. The Berkshire Hunt has its date. September 17. and Septem-ber 24 is the date chosen by apt. E. B. Cassatt for one day of sport at his beautiful Berwyn. Pa., place. The Whitelareh Vallfy Hunt has been awarded October 1 for its one dav of racing, and Joseph E. Widen, r will nave a day of racing at Ogontz. Pa.. Oetolier 8. The Rose Tree Hunt will race October 15 and 15. and August Belmont has provided for a day of racing at his Babylon estate on October 22. W. R. Grace is to lie the host November 5. and during the same month W. O. Brokaw will have a day of racing at his Great Neck estate. The United Hunts will have two days of racing at the Belmont Park Terminal November 8 and 12. and there are some other dates that will surely be filled in by the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association and the Hunts Committee before the last word is said for racing in the east.
