RAILROAD MEN GUESTS AT TAMPA. Tampa, Fla., January 14. Todays attendance was augmented by visiting members of the railway traliic agents association, now in convention in this city. They were the guests of the association and attended the course with Mayor McKay and other representative citizens. Several first-time starters added interest to the racing and improved it materially. Horicon and Teddy Bear were the only pronounced first choices to score. Black Chiefs defeat in the feature was a stunning surprise. "Stony" Abrams, who is presiding over one of the books, was forced to suspend work on account of illness. The remaining three books were kept at top speed throughout the afternoon. The opening race Monday is of the "Scully" variety. The winner will revert to the association, to be" presented later to the winning rider of the gentleman race. A series of these races will be inaugurated and the prize horses will eventually bo used to form the jiuclcus of a hunt club. Hal Kennedy bought Bodkin today and shipped him to Jacksonville. Jockeys McCIoskey, F. Jackson and Pauley were each suspended three days by starter Murray. Jockey Irvin is under the ban for failure to keep in condition. His riding has been erratic during the meeting. M. Myers, who made a claim for Light Knight, failed to get the horse because of irregularity in the claim.
