CASE OF WAITING ON THE COURTS. The racing situation in the State of New York is still in the air. The Jockey Club is moving slowly under the circumstances, but it is said that soon there will be a determined effort to re-establish the sport. The turf solous have no idea of asking the legislature for relief, it is said, but are going to ask the courts to interpret the new laws which caused the tracks to Kill off the fall meetings last year. If the directors liability law is declared unconstitutional as the result of a number of civil suits now pending, it is- confidently expected that racing will be resumed 011 April 15 without regard for the law that nrohibits "bookinaking witli or without writing." Racing men regard that measure as something of a joke and say that it does not alter the conditions which prevailed last season. New York Sun.
