Son of Hastings Has Scored by a Head in Eaeli of His Last Three Starts Golden Changes Hands by Bidding-Up Process. Jacksonville. Fla.. February 24. Today was an off day at Monerief Park, as Fridays usually are. The card offered was of ordinary caliber, a majority of the races being cheap selling affairs, in which mediocre fields went to the post. An allowance race, at a mile and a sixteenth, was provided as a feature and furnished a head finish, between Princelike and T. -jr. Green, with the Chinn racer victorious. Irincelike has won his last three starts and on each occasion his margin has been only a head, lie has been one of the most consistent horses l-acing here this winter. In his hist ten starts Irincelike finished tirst upon six occasions, was second three times anil third once. The two-year-old race went to Working Lad, from the Gerst stable. Working Lad made his company look cheap. He led throughout, and won in a canter by three lengths. Claude Hoffman, making his maiden effort,, was a well-backed favorite. He ran greenly and was never prominent, being eased up at the end. The Breeders Purse found the first three fighting it .out, with the ."0 to J shot, lthasneth. lirst home, a nock in advance of Ilorrowcr and Woolspnn a nose behind Borrower. After Golden won the third race he was boosted by Sam Louis to S1.200. .lohn W. Schorr then bid ,250 and secured the colt. Golden was claimed from Mr. Schorr by Louis Tanber a few days ago. The latter had lioosted several of the Louis racers and todays runup was in retaliation. Dross Parade II.. winner of the fifth race, was also bid up. J. W. Schorr did the bidding and carried the horse from S-100 to S700. He was bid in. Dcfinltos poor showing today led to a ruling being made by the officials which bars the further ttntryr-fyf the horse at tho-meeting. r The lan against Bean Brummcl has leen lifted. The entry of this horse was refused because he bled. Ills owner,. F. Gerlng, Sr.. thinks he has cured the horse of his ailment and he will be given another chance to race.
