AMERICAN RIDERS GO AEROAD TODAY. New York. February 24. When the North German Llovd steamer George Washington sails tomorrow it will have on board a quartet of prominent Ameri-t. can jockeys in Fred Herbert. Micky .Miles, Vincent " Powers aiid W. ICnapp, who affixed signatures to contracts to ride in Europe in 1011. Herbert. Powers and Knapp will ride for Baron Oppenheimer and Bichard Hcinal, whose horses are trained by the American horseman, James II. McCorinick, in Germany. Mr. McCormick is leaving no stone unturned to bring about success for his employers the coming reason, for besides the trio of riders he secured while on his visit to this country, he has arranged to have Fred Alberts attend to the plating of the borsos in bis charge. This is Mr. Alberts second engagement in Germany. In 1007 he did the plating of the You Weinberg horses, at that time trained by George Walker. Micks .Miles returns to Austria, where he is under contract to ride for M. Eygedi.
