JUAREZ TRACK AGAIN DEEP IN MUD. Changed Track Conditions Bring Numerous Withdrawals William Cahill to Train Jack Atkin. El laso. Tex.. March 1. Heavy rains that fell last night made the Juarez track muddy anil deep for todays racing and this condition was responsible tor numerous withdrawals from the races. A tine crowd was in attendance and happily landed on two favorites and a well backed second choice. The victory of Projectile in the second race was especially iKtpular, it being the first success at the meeting for Senor De La Arena, a prominent Mexican who has a small string in training here. Sigurd, considered a likely candidate for the Derby to be run on the closing day of the meeting, was claimed by .1. It. Wainwright for ,100 after his defeat in the closing race yesterday. ISarney Sehreiber has turned Jack Atkin over to William Cahill, to train. Mr. Cahill l recognized as one of the most capable platers in the country. Mr. Schrelbers great racer split ahoof while being worked at Juarez for a stake engagement, and tlie skilful handling of Mr. Cahill may restore Sains most noted son to his former greatness.
