TAMPA FAVORITES AGAIN BEATEN. Tampa. Fla.. March 10. Cold weather caused a decreased attendance this afternoon. An ordinary card produced some spirited contests, but the re-suits were generally disastrous for the public. All the favorites were again beaten, including Omicrou ami Grenade, both of which were at odds-on. There was considerable smart support for John Garner, Don Hamilton, Hurting and Little Maid, however. There was a noticeable liberality in the bookmakers offerings duritig the afternoon, some of tlio prices quoted being rather unusual for a syndicate ring. The scarcity of horses is beginning to be felt and the secretary experiences .difficulty in lilliug his daily cards. There was another batch of departures today, the principal consignments consisting of the horses owned by J. F. Sweeney and R. L. Rites, which went to Jamestown. The judges today announced1 the suspension for this meeting of jockey J. Bergen for. rough riding. Bergen has had a good offer to ride for William Garth and will probably go to Jamestown within the next few days. Jockey C. Knight was the victim of what appeared to be a bad fall on Boserrian in the fifth race, but was able later to return to the jockeys quarters unassisted.
