BOBBY BOYER BEATS JIM BASEY. F.I Paso. Tex.. March 21. For a program of the most ordinarv kind, the attendance at Juarez today was surprisingly good, .fully 2,000 patrons of the sport being on the grounds by post time for the llrst race. An allowance race at three-quarters of a mile furnished the stellar attraction of the afternoon and resulted in a good contest. Jim Rasey was looked itnou as the likliest of the starters, but he again disappointed his admirers and, although running a good race under Garners good handling, lie was easilv outstayed by Bobby Boyer. The success of but one mild fav6rite gave the layers an opportunity to recover from the drubbing they have received during the past few days. Jocker J. Reid was suspended for five days by starter Cassidy, the oirense being committed in the lifth race." Helen Johnson, winner of the first race.- is a recent castotT from the Schreiber string and in winning easilv defeated a contestant from that stable. The finish of the lifth race was one of the most exciting seen in a considerable time but three lengths separating the first six horses at the end.
