NOTES OF THE TURF. The Prix des Tarianoni. worth 3,000 francs,- was won by Nash Turners Friand at Maisons-Lafiittei France, yesterday. It Is said that the Saratoga Association will ask for an allotment of forty days, the full legal limit in New York state, for its racing this year. The Dublin Evening Mail says that at the request of King George the date fixed for the Leopardstown meeting has been altered from Tuesday, July 11, to Monday, July 10. Trainer Walker will ship the ThornclilTc horses from the farm to Woodbine track at Toronto as soon as the weather is settled. Jockey Stcinhardt is now-attached to the stable. Trainer William Carroll will start from Oakland for the east about April 10 with ten two-year-olds, of the A. B. Spreckcls string. At present Mr. Car? roll Is training about twenty-live at the bay track and the horses which will not be taken cast will be shipped to Napa Stock Farm to summer. With the selection of Mars Cassidy as starter, the officials for the Lexington spring meeting have all; been settled upon and will be as follows: W. II. Shelley, racing secretary; Capt. Thomas II. Clav, presiding judge: Mars Cassidy, starter; Eugeno El-rod, supervisor betting ring; John McLaughlin, seller of auction pools. Some capital racing was witnessed at Saturdays meeting of the South African Turf Club at Capetown. A special feature was the triple dead heat iu the Farewell Handicap, when three horses. Dew hauch, Flying Duke and Lombard. Hashed past the winning post in a line.
