PENSACOLA PATRONAGE LIGHT. Pensacola, Fla., April 1. The running of the closing race developed a bad accident and injury to jockey Donovan, who had the inoijnt on Pleasing. The latter was in a forward position approaching the second turn, when she suddenly tripped and fell. Jockey Donovan was thrown heavily, but was seemingly uninjured until in the act of rising he collided with Dr. Paul, which had been trailing, and caused the lattcrs fall. Donovnn emerged with a broken arm and a sprained collarbone. A. Martin, who rode Dr. Paul, sustained minor bruises. There was a slight increase in patronage over yesterday, but the attendance was only of fair proportions. Tho speculation also showed a corresponding increase and the bookmakers lost heavily. Close finishes came with the running of most of the races and aroused some enthusiasm. Elsie Van and St. Dunstan were the only successful choices and under normal conditions the ljook-niakers would have had a profitable day. The man agement confidently expects a big influx of racegoers from Jacksonville on Monday next. Tluy also look for about live carloads of horses from the same point.
