RUNA began slowly and was shuttled to the rear, but came from far back in the last quarter and, getting up in the final fifty yards, caught GEMMELL tiring and won in the final stride. GEMMELL showed the most speed and. setting a fast pace, appeared an easy winner in the stretch, but tired badly in the last sixteenth. NEW CAPITAL ran well and outstayed SISCUS for third place.
