AUTHORITATIVE STATEMENT FROM NORFOLK. The following self-explanatory telegram, was received last night by Daily Racing Form iroiu Koln-rt :Levy, manager of the meeting of tho Jamestown Jockey Club, which will open at Norfolk, Va., Wednesday and continue until April 20: "Norfolk, Va., April 1. A test case was mado of the law relating to wagering in this state. A layer and his clerk were arrested and brought before the county judge. Aftor an extended, hearing the justice decided that there was no evidence of bookmaking and discharged the prisoners. This inoniis that there is not the slightest possibility of interference.
