NOTES OF THE TURF. Andrew .Miller, steward of the Jockey Club, and secretary and treasurer of the Saratoga Association, has. about made up-his mind to go to Europe in May with Thomas Welsh to see Adam Bede run in the Epsom Derby and Itashti make a bid for tho Oaks. Adam Bede and Bashti, respectively a son and daughter of the French stallion Adam, were bred by Mr. Miller and his partners in the ownership of the Millstream Stud. Francis C. and Ogden Bishop. Thomas Welsh developed both of the horses. It transpires that a coterie of enthusiastic American lovers of the horse, including Judge William A. Moore, Alfred G. Vanderbilt and a half dozen others, furnished, the funds for the purchase bv the War Department of Justine, Duke of Ashleigh. Timber-lost, Tampico, Tony Lass. Chiswell, Quandary. Knight of El way and St. Nicholas II. to represent the United States Army at the forthcoming London Horse Show. The horses are at Fort Mver. Va.. where they will be schooled over jumps "built and laid out on a. course similar to that at Olympia.
