WAINWRIGHT STRING TRAINING AT DOWNS. Louisville, Ky., "April 5. Fred Luzader, trainer for J. R. Wainwright, has a string of twelve good racers at. Churchill Downs and- when the spring meeting opens there on May 13, he will have every one of this string in racing condition. The Wainwright stable had a successful season at the Juarez course and had it not been for the mishap to jockey Norman Kennedy, more nurses undoubtedly would have been placed to the credit of owner Wajn-wright. Kennedy, while riding one of the Schreiber horses, was jammed igainst a fence and his left ankle was crushed. As a result, he was out of tho saddle for six weeks. After that he was not at his best. Kennedy is now at West Baden Springs. He writes trainer Luzader that he expects to he in line shape for racing at the Downs this spring. Trainer Luzader says that Kennedy, riding at 10i or 110 pounds, is one of the best jockeys in America. Scaling to 105 or 106 pounds seems. Mr. Luzader says, to work a transformation, causing him to lose his vigor and deprive him of his good judgment. Kennedy has lost what he was formerly charged with possessing, a surly disposition. The star racer in the Luzader string is Trance. Trance ha the distinction of having defeated Round the World at Juarez. Another good one is Intrinsic. Among the others are Sigurd. Royal Captive, Al Midler, Alice George, Polly Furcell, Dr. Waldo Briggs and May Bride. Dr. Waldo Briggs and May Bride were not campaigned at Juarez the past winter and have just, arrived from Lexington. This pair was taken un less than two months ago and are now in condition. T.
