If you indicated plainly that your bet on the horse was in the first race it was a draw. W. C, Norwood. O. Because one example was deemed sufficient to illustrate the method of calculation. W. F. R., Chicago. The bet was .1 draw. The stipulation, "Schorr entry, Uanives to go," meant, that Banives was to run as one of the Schorr entry, which he did not do. A. E. T., Cleveland, O. Because of the narrow track it was deemed unsafe to allow more than sixteen horses to start in a race. Hence when mofe than that number had been entered, the excess horses could not start unless some of the sixteen selected wore scratched. Joe H., Kansas City, Mo. While at the post for the May wood Stakes at Washington Park July 11, 1901, Abe Frank threw his jockey and ran away a mile and a quarter. He was then excused from starting and all bets stood, the horses being in the starters control.
